Paradis red Strat 1985

this is the legendary guitar we made for Mark Knopfler – but we never reached him.

its somehow the bridge between de e-guitar world that started in the 50ies and our sound as it manifested in the Avalon and more even in the Spuler – Paradis.

its a great strat in the first place. and it has typical and untypical Paradis features:

  • piezo pickups
  • Polydistortion – this is very rare, I only built that board into about 4 guitars.
  • a hex filter for the piezo where each string is a bit differently filtered
  • a push button (radio button as they call it) for each pickup (Mid, Bridge, Piezo) where one releases the other but you can press several an mix the pickups!
  • Neutricon output – could be transformed into a 13pin rather easily

Description

it runs on 2 9V batteries

the logo at the time was hand written by Rolf

if you select the mid and bridge pickup together, the bridge turns into a single coil – this is what we understood to be the Knopfler sound
