Description
this is what you need to make your original Avalon+Polysubbass “MIDI compatible”. we do not like this expression since in reality it only sends separate signals of each string through the 13pin DIN connector – which can feed a Guitar2Midi converter, but you can do a lot more with it:
Guitar-Synths work better than MIDI because they are not limited to NoteOn-NoteOff commands.
There are plenty guitar effects that work a lot better when they receive each string separate.
I created a dedicated site to this subject!
How to use this product:
either you cut the flat cable near the back Neutricon and press a 8 or 10 pin IDC female connector to it, or you replace the complete flat cable (probably because you upgrade to the newer Neutricon).
after unscrewing the Neutricon back connector, you need to file the screw holes a little bit to match to the distance of the 13pin mounting bracket which has threads in it. so once the holes in the Polysubbass are big enough, you can mount this board with 2 M3 screws
there is a pad for the pin7 which usually is the magnetic (mono) pickup. here it could serve for the Polybass signal. a picture shows where you can draw the signal from the original Polysubbass board.
