Squire-Fire Strat prototype with Polybass

never used Squire Strat featuring:

  • Paradis MonoRail bridge with Piezo Pickups
  • classical guitar volume control
  • classical guitar tone control
  • Polybass volume control
  • optional standard 1/4″ jack output or GK switches (as on picture)

Since this is a basically a standard Squire but has a very unique history and features like piezo and Polybass, its very hard to estimate its value.

Description

in 2006 when Rolf started to build guitars again and developped the FireWire interface with BridgeCo, he also offered this feature to Fender and for this built a prototype with the Paradis mono rail bridge and piezo pickups. Fender carefully analysed the project and probably did not go for it because Gibson had a patent covering “Digital Guitar”

at the time, the board was pretty big, so the corner with the Polybass did not fit into this guitar. now that FireWire is outdated the original board does not make much sense for a musician, but maybe for a collector or museum? thats why I did not make any modification yet, but if you want, I can build the new Polybass and 13pin output into it.
